Business coaching and advice for occupational health company

Workable - Case study

“I wouldn’t have been able to do what I’ve done without Traktion. I can arrive at a coaching session feeling not so good about some things, but when I walk out my mindset is completely changed. I’m full of energy. I don’t know how they do it – it’s amazing.” Tessa Allan, WorkAble

Founded in 2019 by registered nurse Tessa Allan, WorkAble occupies a valuable niche in the occupational healthcare space by providing businesses with mobile access to a range of employee health services. From hearing and vision testing through to drug testing, flu vaccinations and employment medical checks, WorkAble’s offerings help to improve the health and wellbeing of workers in Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Bay of Plenty.

Tessa’s experience with Traktion pre-dates the inception of WorkAble. With her husband Kurt, she’s also a partner in ProTraffic – a traffic management company – that has been a Traktion client since 2018.

“Once ProTraffic was rolling along well, I realised I also wanted to create a business around nursing. I just had to find out how to do it.”

Having the connection with Traktion’s accountancy and business coaching experts helped Tessa to establish a viable business, which now employs seven nurses. Demand for WorkAble’s services is high, especially since the pandemic made employers more aware of the benefits of a healthy workforce.

“WorkAble is in a really busy stage of its life and we’re growing. Having Monique, Gareth and their team on hand to provide insight and advice gives me the confidence to keep going. They’re just massively inspiring and positive.”
